Elaspine™ is a pedicle-screw based posterior motion preservation system for degenerative lumbar spine disease. The key element is an elastic polymer rod with a patented form-fit connection to a mono-axial pedicle screw head. The system makes use of the viscoelastic material properties of the polymer rod and acts similarly to a damper. |

Elaspine™ shares the load within the vertebral tripod and thereby enhances stability, mainly on the sagittal and frontal planes. It reduces the effects of peak loads and allows a soft stop to help protect the screw anchorage in the bone. |

The implant materials titanium and polycarbonate urethane (PCU) are long lasting and have a proven clinical history. Spinelab simply reinvents the structure and interface of a connecting rod with a pedicle screw. |
